Bronze statuette/figure of The Dagda
One of the mighty Tuatha Dé Danann, beings of great supernatural power from Irish legends. He bears many names and functions, one of these alternative names being Eochaid Ollathair.
He is often associated with the Gallo-Roman god Sucellos, sharing powerful attributes like the club or mallet, a tool of both destruction and restoration. He is a father-figure, a god of great wisdom and strength.
The Dagda is the bearer of all knowledge, and his cauldron is never empty. It brings endless nourishment and satisfaction to all, a symbol of life’s abundance. He also plays a magical harp, named Uathach (or Uaithne), whose songs control the turning of the seasons and stir human emotions with precision. With it, he can bring joy, sorrow, sleep and even silence.
He is strength, joy, and the deep, grounding power of the land itself.
